Dr Knox Chitiyo is the Africa Fellow and head of the Africa Programme at the Royal United Services Institute [RUSI] in Whitehall, London. Dr. Knox is also Chairman of the Britain- Zimbabwe Society [BZS]. He has published in academic and popular media on southern African, wider African, and global defence and security/development issues. He is also involved in African diaspora issues.

Dr. Knox also appears on Al- Jazeera, the BBC and other news channels. Prior to coming to the UK, Knox was a Senior Lecturer in War Studies at the University of Zimbabwe and Deputy Director of the Centre for Defence Studies. Dr. Knox won the BEN/SKY 2010 Diplomat Award, and was a nominee for the 2011 Zimbabwe Achievers' Awards .Knox is an Associate with the Brenthurst Foundation [E Oppenheimer and Sons, South Africa]. He is also on the SADC and AU Advisory Group.
